The South Florida African Dance Collective is a dance conference that explores the cultural richness of Africa and the Diaspora via dance and discussions.
Our 2015- 2016 South Florida African Dance Collective aims provide
master classes in Traditional Congolese, West African and Contemporary dance, create and facilitate an on-going discussion on the influence of folkloric forms on contemporary dance in the 21st century, as well as an academic lecture discussing contemporary Africa, and the loss of mother Africa in the identity of the Y2k Generation, and will culminate with a Performance by guest artist Byb Kongo Bibene and his company the Kiandanda Dance Theatre, based in San Francisco California.
